Little Flashbacks Vol.1

Redeptionist Deacon w/Flamer (Games-Workshop, 25mm)

Since my current project is a Redemptionist, I figured I'd post a few of my first Redemptionists, starting with the Deacon.

These were some of my very first miniatures, and I used them for play in Necromunda, which as Games-Workshop puts it, "is a game of fierce combat between rival game fighters in the dangerous underworld of the Necromundan hives. Gangs must fight to gain territories, wealth and renown. Only when a gang leader is well known throughout the Underhive can he hope to cross and enter into the hive city above. Gangs battle for survival in the nightmare undercity."

Very fun, but almost gone entirely. A shame...

Front view:

Not much to say here, other than I sure am glad that I've improved over the years. This was painted over 10 years ago. I don't know what I was aiming for with the base, I think I was trying to be different. Notice his super awesome name.

Back view:

I must've been in a rush, because you can see parts that I just didn't paint. I don't know if you can see, but there are parts of the mini where the paint is all bumpy. I probably tried to paint with half dried colors. Whatever's on the base stained his robes too.

"Now listen up, you primitive screwheads. This... is my BOOMstick! The 12-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about $109.95. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel... and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. YOU GOT THAT?!"

Ah, that movie makes me smile...I'd say things like that then yell out "Take that you...dragon...demon...thing!!!"
